Tokitechie Welcomes 2015 by welcoming Android Kitkat as well!

Happy New Year!

This 2015, things are going to change. From being an iOS fanboy, I welcome Android with excitement and anticipation for the coming Android L version which is called Android Lollipop.

I admit, I was an "iOS fanboy" until I had an in-depth Android Kitkat experience just this December 2014. I realized that sticking to only one smartphone OS and treating other smartphone operating systems inferior just to make my choice of OS standout is a No-no! That is an apparent sign of immaturity.

My first Android device is Asus ZenFone 5. Although I already had Android devices during its Eclair, Froyo and Gingerbread versions, I consider my Asus Zenfone 5 as my very first because this is the first time that I really had the best Android experience. Asus Zenfone 5 is a very affordable android device that is packed with decent specs for only 7000php or around US$160.

Here are the technical specifications of ASUS ZenFone 5:
5-inch IPS LCD display, 1280 x 720 @294ppi
Intel Atom Z2580 2GHz dual-core processor
PowerVR SGX 544 MP2
2GB RAM
16GB internal storage
64GB via microSD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
3G/HSPA+
Bluetooth
8MP BSI rear camera w/ LED flash
1080p video recording @30fps
2MP front-facing camera
2100mAh battery
Android 4.3
148.2 x 72.8 x 10.3 mm
144 grams
Colors: Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, and Champagne Gold

My personal choice of color is Champagne Gold. What I like about Asus Zenfone is its vibrant 720p display, premium streamlined design, well-performing camera, polished Zen User Interface (UI) and of course its Android Kitkat Operating System which allows me to personalize my phone using different customization apps.

Here are the screenshots of my Asus Zenfone 5:
The OS is modified/personalized using Nova Launcher and some icon packs.
Stay tuned for more blog posts about my Android experience. For the mean time, I just want you to know via this blog post that Tokitechie's blog is no longer focused on iOS. I also need to share how beautiful and useful Android is :)
